Basic Grey Challenge # 22 Hearts

Yay, it's the weekend! Hope you're all having a nice one so far? We've actually managed to have the heating off today, that's a good sign that Spring might not be so far away!

Here is my card for this week's Basic Grey Challenge where the brief is to include hearts..... hmmmm, wonder why that is, lol? I hope you get chance to check out the creations made by my fellow DT members and to enter the challenge before this season of love passes us by.

I was wondering what image to use for my card and had a nosy through my Penny Black ones when I stumbled across the little mousie dangling from a Christmas ornament. Then a lightbulb pinged above my head and I thought 'I know, I'll change the ornament for a heart and Bob's your Uncle'! Okay, it wasn't quite like that but it makes the whole process seem a bit more dramatic doesn't it, hee hee!

As it happens this card came in quite useful because a colleague of my hubster phoned me with an SOS last night. He wanted to give his wife a handmade Valentines card and had forgotten to contact me about it. I said it's a good job I'm part of this wonderful blogging community and take part in lots of challenges because it means I've usually got spare cards at hand. I really hope his wife likes this one, she's been pleased with other cards I've made in the past. Apart from that she'll probably just be made up that her hubster has remembered, lol!

Materials:
Image - Penny Black
Sentiment - Smirk (Studio G)
Papers - Basic Grey Infuse
Colouring - ProMarkers
Embossing - Cuttlebug Hearts
Embellishments - Heart Stickers, Ribbon and Gems from my stash
Accents - Distress Inks for card edges, Letraset Fineliner for faux stitching

I'll be back tomorrow with the Colour Create Challenge and my card, I really hope you can join in again as you have been doing already in your droves. I know I keep on but it really is deeply appreciated :o)

Before I go can I say a big thankyou to my dear friend Heather for this lovely award. It really means alot, I'll be back a bit later to pass it on....

Fabulous card Tara! I love your light bulb moment re changing the stamp, very clever and it did sound ever so dramatic LOL! Love the papers you used, I don't have any Infuse and they look gorgeous. I bet your Hubby's colleague was relieved that you had a card made and I bet his wife loved it. I agree, at least he remembered. Mine has never been one for them at all!!! Chris xx
