Phew! What a shock to the system it is when we have to go back to school and work! That pesky alarm clock wasn't welcome this morning when it went off at 7am I can tell you! I really am a girl who needs her sleep!!
Anyway, enough waffle from me. I, like everyone else in the blogging world I think, was very excited to see Katharina's Guest Designer call on the
Whiff of Joy Challenge blog last week! I'm sure the competition will be very fierce but you've got to give it a go me thinks....... and anyway, the sketch was so much fun to work with. What great timing with all the scrumptious new Springtime stamps just released too!
For my card I flipped the sketch sideways. I remember seeing something recently, it may have been in a magazine, where the image on a card was set in front of a backing paper scene. I've been wanting to have a go at this and Basic Grey papers are perfect as quite a few of them are a scene in themselves. I wanted to sit the beautiful Willow on a branch but I don't have any tree or branch stamps, so I drew one myself...... yes I really did draw it!! Maybe I'm not quite as lousy at sketching as I thought, hee hee! I was also able to play with my new Woodware flower punch, I bought it in two different sizes at the weekend but only used the smaller one for this card.
Materials:
Image - Whiff of Joy
Sentiment - Aud's Designs
Border - Tapestry Peg Stamps
Papers - Basic Grey Urban Prairie
Punch - Woodware and Martha Stewart
Die - Sizzix Leaves
Colouring - ProMarkers
Embellishments - Raffia Ribbon from my stash
You may notice that my Tapestry peg stamps came out to play again..... told you I'd be using them again!!
I'm off to cook tea now; a Thai green curry stir fry.... YUM!
Catch you a bit later friends ;o)
