Cute Card Thursday # 48 - Signs of Spring

What a lovely theme for a challenge on this grey and dreary day in February. As far as cardmaking goes I am thoroughly in the mood for Spring type cards so I dived in for this Cute Card Thursday challenge. When I saw one of Bev's recent cards I noticed she had used a set of Tapestry Peg stamps to create a border and it immediately reminded me that I had a set unopened in my stash. To be honest I'd been a bit scared of what to do with them! Nothing like a bit of inspiration from a fellow crafter to get the creative juices flowing so thanks Bev, you're a diamond! If you zoom in close you can get a better idea of how the stamps work.

As you can see I decided to create my border around the edge of the card and go nude in the middle! That is to say that I've left some of my card white again, something I wouldn't have dared to do until Sarita gave me the inspiration.... oh these peeps help me out so much!!!

Whilst I'm in the mood to acknowledge the help friends have given me I'll mention Tab too! This lovely lady first highlighted me to colouring with Polychromatic pencils and I have used them to colour my lovely Tilda this time, instead of my trusted ProMarkers. Does you good to get out of your comfort zone occasionally after all! Tab is most certainly the Polys queen I think!!

Materials:
Image - Magnolia
Sentiment - Studio G Stamps
Dies - Bosscut Vine
Colouring - Polychromatic Pencils
Flowers - Prima, Flora Doodles
Embellishments - Ribbon and Brads from my stash
Accents - Liquid Pearls

Stop press! Have you noticed I haven't used any design papers..... no, not one! You see, it can be done, hee hee!

I'll apologise in advance because I have a feeling I might be using these Tapestry stamps again and again now that I've seen what can be achieved.

Have a lovely evening!

Absolutely stunning, those stamps are amazing. I've seen them around and always put them back down afraid I wouldn't know how to use them. Now I seen the master at work, I might reconsider !

Stunning! Those tapestry stamps look amazing on this card - so pretty and delicate. Oh! now you've done it - I need those stamps and some poly's too. Please stop making beautiful cards with new things because my purse hates it when I visit your blog. (just kidding). Tara, this really is fantastic.
