Friday Sketchers # 38

I was so pleased when I saw Claudia's sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week. I really like it's simplicity. I thought I'd make a card using Sarita's brilliant technique of stamping a background, she does this so well and has really inspired me again! I took a Basic Grey stamp set which I recently bought in a sale and stamped out the two main flourishes in pink and blue. This has ended up as a real girlie card and I have to say I'm chuffed with the result. When I added the sentiment I actually thought it resembled a little clothing label like you'd find in the back of a shirt or blouse.

Now what do you think of my marvellous sewing heh? Well I've tried and tried to create stitching on a sewing machine and I'm simply pants at it, so it's faux stitching all the way from now on. I bought a selection of gel pens so I can try to fool you all that it's coloured thread. Just need to vary my stitches a bit now I think.

You may notice that I've used one of the Christmas Tildas for my image, but made sure I cut off the holly bits in her hair. I keep trying to fool you lot don't I? Really I should know better, I'm quite sure you don't miss a trick, lol!

Materials:

Image - Magnolia
Sentiment - Studio G
Background Stamps - Basic Grey
Flowers - Flora Doodles and Prima
Large Brad - Doodlebug
Colouring - ProMarkers and Polychromos
Embellishments - Pearls and Ribbon from my stash

I'm giving this card to a friend's daughter for her birthday next week, she's quite a girlie girl so I'm hoping she'll be pleased with it!

This is inspiring, love it, as for stitching, it looks great. I work on the assumption that the wobblier the stitching, the artier the card looks, well that's my excuse.

Sweet card Tara. I'm not brave enough to get my sewing machine out, it would take a week to fathom out how to use the thing and eat into my crafting time LOL

Maybe a new trend now I think lol.
By the way I wondered which mag you got your little birdie from coz I want to try and get hold of it?
